What we do

We’re tackling digital exclusion, and sharing digital skills, across East Sussex

TechResort has helped adults, young people, schools, community groups, businesses, councils and central government grow digital skills since 2013.

Technology surrounds us, and we’re here to give you the knowledge, skills and confidence to make the most of it. Sometimes we act as consultants, offering support and expertise as needed. Often we see a gap that needs to be filled, and set ourselves to the task!

About us

TechResort founded in 2013 and we’ve come a long way since then. We started by organising code clubs and digital inclusion sessions in our home town of Eastbourne, and now we’re working with all sorts of partners across the UK. The need for better digital skills is universal.

As a Community Interest Company, our profits and assets are used solely for the public good.

OurĀ board of directors come from different parts of creative and digital industries. Most of the people who work for us also volunteer extra time, and everyone at TechResort is in it to do good.

How we work

TechResort involves end users very early in a project, running quick and cheap experiments to properly understand a problem. This delivers value early on, and gives us lots of feedback to make the next version better.

Here’s a good example. During the first Covid-19 lockdown in 2020, we noticed a local lack of personal protective equipment. We tried making visors on a small scale, and quickly found out it was possible. This gave us confidence to invest in a 3D printer farm.

This approach is summed up in our motto: “How hard can it be?” We’re ready to roll our sleeves up and work on any digital challenge.
