For a small organisation, we do a lot of different things.

Everything we do comes together to deliver digital skills to stop members of our community being left behind now, or in the future.

Digital Drop-ins

Our free, friendly, informal drop-ins at Eastbourne Town Hall allow anyone to come and get one to one help for a digital task they’re struggling with.

We support people to build the skills they need, prioritising the tasks most important to them.  No job too small!

We have space for people to work independently with their own computer, or use one of ours, all the time knowing that help is on hand if needed.

Device repurposing

Skills are only one part of the digital inclusion equation. People need devices at home so they can keep using their skills at a time that suits them.  That’s how skills get embedded and confidence builds.

We take donated devices and remove all the old data.  We test them and, with the help of referral partners,  donate them to people who can’t afford to buy them.

Work experience and a first job

We help young people, especially those at risk of becoming NEET, learn how to be in a workplace by providing them with a period of work experience.  This builds transferable skills and confidence and allows young people to articulate their skill and value to a potential employer.

We also prioritise first time, young workers when recruiting for new roles.  These young workers are the staff you’ll meet when you come and ask for some digital help.

Workshops for young people

It’s where we started in 2013 and it’s still a vital part of our plan: running creative digital workshops for young people 8 – 18.  The workshops emphasise digital creation over consumption and give kids access to tools they may not see at home or school. Trying a wide range of digital activities, with encouragement to experiment, is what helps to future-proof young people’s skills.

For many attendees it’s their first connection with us, going on to work experience or work at TechResort.

When you’re helped by one of our team, remember they probably started as an eight-year-old workshop attendee.
