Blog: Education meet industry

Last Monday we invited several Eastbourne creative and tech businesses to sit down with Sussex Downs College – a great event and plenty will happen as a result

TechResort wants to join the dots between local employers, educators and government. Working together we can grow Eastbourne’s knowledge economy more quickly.

Last Monday we invited several Eastbourne creative and tech businesses to sit down with Sussex Downs College, the largest further education provider in the area. The college already meets different sectors across Eastbourne and we were delighted to help them talk with ours.

This first ‘TR chat’ builds on the skills survey work we started last year. We wanted to know about the skills needed by local firms to thrive and how that fits with current and future college training. There’s a lot of good happening, but there’s always plenty more we can do. Watch this space for details.

Thanks

There’s lots of people who made this happen so three cheers to you all.

Great blog. It was a pleasure to attend and photograph what is a very exciting time for Eastbourne. I look forward to documenting the rest of this exciting project and being a part of it, watching it develop and grow. – Phil
