Blog: Helping people on low incomes get online

Helping hands

Over the last couple of months, we’ve been working with Citizens Advice 1066 on a pilot project to help people on low incomes access all the online resources they need.

People who are digitally excluded are often further disadvantaged by paying more for utilities and being unable to access some essential services.

By joining forces – using Citizens Advice advisors’ skills and TechResort’s coaching – we’re hoping both to understand client needs better, and make a real difference for a few individuals.  We can then use this improved understanding to recommend future actions and policy.

Citizens Advice 1066 are happy to take referrals from other support organisations in Hastings and St Leonards, for clients who are on low incomes and who are digitally excluded in some way (device, internet access or skills).  Individuals are also welcome to contact CA1066.

If you know someone in the area who needs some help, please get in touch. Find out more about this project
