Back in September a car crashed into our building, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage. Thankfully the car insurers paid up, our shop front is rebuilt and we’ll be back helping people in January.
One thing the insurers won’t pay for is the lost help and device donations we would have received over the last four months while our building was closed. There’s now a long waiting list for people in desperate need to receive either a refurbished phone or laptop.
You can help!
There’s two ways you can help us:
- If you received a new phone or laptop over Christmas (or any time!) then please consider donating your old one. We can wipe your data and give them a good home
- Make a small financial donation to cover the cost of a new (but cheap) phone or laptop for someone who needs it most. Best value at the moment are Motorola Moto E14 phones and Chromebooks. We’re always tracking prices to buy devices as cheaply as possible
We’re aiming to raise £5000 in total – it will cover the cost of enough devices to reduce our waiting list to the same size before the car crash happened.
Please throw someone a lifeline – access to the internet can make all the difference.
