Blog: Nesta names Eastbourne as a creative cluster

We’re delighted (but not surprised) to hear that Nesta named Eastbourne as a creative cluster in its new report

Nesta has named Eastbourne as a UK creative cluster in its new report, The Geography of Creativity.

Over the last few years we’ve been bowled over by the calibre of tech businesses around the town, such as Cyclr, Zoonou, Switchplane and many more. Eastbourne’s co-working space Cohub is a hive of activity and regular meetups like #WiredEB and our #DigitalDrinks are flourishing.

The creative industries account for 9.1% of the town’s economy and employ 2,701 people. We’ve more creative businesses than Hastings, a higher percentage than Bournemouth, and we compare well with our local creative capital, Brighton.

You can download the report and the data.

If you’d like to meet local fellow creatives why not come along to our next #DigitalDrinks which will be shortly announced on our events page.
